A yellow weather warning was in place for most of the region on Sunday
The last two weeks have been a real treat weather-wise across the UK, with Northern Ireland seeing those high temperatures and strong sun rays.
On Sunday, a yellow weather warning was in place for most of the region, from 2pm through to midnight. The warning was for thunderstorms, but it remained quite warm. Taking a look to the week ahead, which is the week of the Belfast City Half Marathon, temperatures will drop slightly - good news for those taking part in Sunday's event. Here's what the Met Office has to say for the week beginning September 11:Showers or longer outbreaks of rain, but some drier and brighter spells developing in the afternoon. Fresher than of late, light to moderate west or northwest winds. Maximum temperature 19C.
"As the period progresses, expect changeable and unsettled weather, primarily due to nearby low pressure. Periods of rain and showers are expected for most, especially in the north and the west. Temperatures are expected to be nearer to normal, possibly slightly below at the start of the period, with south and southeastern areas potentially experiencing warmer conditions."
