39,000 lost power at the height of the storm, but average restoration time was one hour
At 4 p.m. Sunday SDG&E reported as many as 39,000 customers had lost electricity but Welling said that 38,000 later regained power and the average time for restoration took about one hour.
Most of the outages occurred in the eastern and northern parts of the county. At 10 p.m. Sunday, about 500 customers in areas such as Valley Center, Poway, Julian and Blossom Valley had no electricity. But by Monday morning, power was restored.
