AFL icon Eddie Betts has shared an alarming video of a driver hurling racial slurs at his children.

AFL legend Eddie Betts has posted a confronting clip to his Instagram of a driver hurling aggressive racial slurs at his children while they played out the front of their home.The video of the racist encounter shows a white sedan slowing down outside of Betts's house before aggressively and repeatedly screaming the N-word at the children, who were innocently playing basketball in the family’s yard.

Betts, who retired from AFL in 2022 and launched a foundation to support young indigenous Australians in sport, posted the video from his home security camera system to Instagram on Thursday night. “Aboriginal kids deserve to be able to play safely, free from racism and abuse over the fence,” the former Carlton player wrote.

“We are not even safe in our own homes. If you know who this is please let me them know that I’m open to having a chat about how much this hurts our kids.” Eddie Betts played 350 AFL games, 218 for Carlton and 132 for Adelaide.
