The Fighting Irish play eight teams ranked in the preseason top 25 this season
Notre Dame checks in at No. 10 in the Preseason Associated Press Women’s College Basketball Poll. The Fighting Irish return four primary starters and four key reserves from a team that finished 27-6 after winning the ACC’s regular season championship and making a run to a second straight NCAA Sweet 16.Defending national champion LSU sits atop the preseason poll with 35 first-place votes. UConn is No. 2 and garnered the only other first-place vote. Last year’s national runner-up, Iowa, is No.
Tennessee comes in at No. 11. The Volunteers are one of eight preseason top 25 teams that Notre Dame will face this season. The Irish face the Vols in in Knoxville in the ACC/SEC Challenge in November. They also open the season in Paris, France against No. 6 South Carolina. Other ranked opponents the Fighting Irish will play this season include: No. 2 UConn , No. 8 Virginia Tech , No. 16 North Carolina , No. 17 Louisville , No. 18 Florida State , and No. 23 Illinois .
