The proposed resort will include a spa, villas and a large infinity pool
A Nottingham-based architect firm has been appointed to design a major leisure resort in China which is due to open in May 2023. CPMG Architects announced that it will work on the leisure centre resort two hours outside Shanghai.
CMPG will design and deliver the resort's spa complex which will include the longest infinity pool in China as well as 37 luxury villas by the lake. The overall design of the resort will include the unique landform left over from the former quarry while seeking to protect the existing land during the development.
Architects designing the building have taken inspiration from flying dragons to create striking silhouettes in particular when it comes to the clifftop bar that overlooks the lake. The bar is located near a waterfall that runs down the cliffside which is served by a pump that makes use of and protects the water ecosystem.
“This is truly a one-of-a-kind development for China especially due to the use of the existing land formation and its aim of being an eco-regenerative project that brings more life and business to the area. Sustainability is central to every design we work on, and this large-scale project is no different – especially with the whole site being larger than the Bluewater shopping centre in London.
