There is a “disaster” scenario where Nottingham Forest could worsen their punishment by appealing the decision of their hearing,Forest were given a four-point deduction on Monday after breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.The initial punishment was six points for the severity of the breach which was subsequently reduced by two due to their compliance in the investigation.
Everton successfully appealed their 10-point deduction in November, with a second hearing reducing the punishment down to six points.that there is the “potential for an appeal to turn into disaster”. The appeal hearing would be heard by a separate commission who have the opportunity to vary any penalty imposed meaning Forest could end up with more points deducted.
