Less than two weeks after a four-point punishment by the Premier League, Forest’s annual accounts dropped onto the Companies House website
’s annual accounts dropped onto the Companies House website late on Thursday night — less than two weeks after the club were given a four-point punishment by the for breaking profit and sustainability regulations , which Forest will appeal. Now, the club’s latest accounts provide their financial position in black and white rather than through briefings, legal arguments, and the decisions of independent commissions.
Forest’s levels of amortisation in 2022-23 increased sixfold, from just under £7m to almost £41m — these are sums owed for previous transfers but which were spread over future seasons. These are sizable sums; wage increases and amortisation alone total more than £125m, which is the whole of Forest’s post-promotion revenue increase. A close look shows the extent to which amortisation will continue to bite.
