Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds youngster Kristian Clarke identified as one to watch for the future
The Reds have a proud history of developing young talent. An impressive list of players have progressed through the ranks and into the first-team down the years - not least Joe Worrall and Ryan Yates, who are captain and vice-captain respectively for Steve Cooper’s side.
Every year The Guardian picks out the best first-year scholars at Premier League clubs for their Next Generation series. This year that applies to players born between 1 September 2006 and 31 August 2007. The report says: “Clarke has all the attributes required to make him a fine central midfielder – he is very mobile, quick over short distances and comfortable on the ball.
Clarke signed his first scholarship with the Reds in July. Attacking midfielder Theo Flanagan, centre-back David Modupe and striker Amarn Robinson also joined him in penning a two-year scholarship as they prepared to link up with the Under-18s squad for the 2023/24 campaign.
