Nottingham's Pub of the Year 2023 announced by CAMRA

A pub with 13 real ales has won the title of Nottingham CAMRA's Pub of the Year. The Horse & Jockey in Stapleford is no stranger to awards, having been crowned the national champion in 2013 and 2022.

The split-level pub, in Nottingham Road, has wood burners, occasional live music and a weekly quiz which attracts a large gathering. It's also dog-friendly and provides doggy treats and water.Nominated pubs are judged on a number of criteria, which includes beer quality, warmth of welcome and general mix of customers. The Horse and & Jockey now goes forward to be judged in the Nottinghamshire round of the competition.

Nottingham CAMRA branch chairman Steve Westby said: "This lively free house is again a deserved winner of this competition. The award recognises the choice of thirteen well kept real ales, many of them from local breweries, served in a welcoming friendly, comfortable, atmosphere."
