Adeel Ulhaq will be sentenced next month
A Nottinghamshire man has admitted terrorism offences. Adeel Ulhaq pleaded guilty to five separate counts of failing to comply with notification of a periodic change requirement under the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008 when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, April 3.
They were that he failed to tell the police, as he was required to after being released from a six-year prison term imposed in 2016, that he was using particular email accounts, mobile phone numbers and a Lloyds bank account. The charges date between May 2019 and August 2022. Wearing a grey coat and supported by his parents for the hearing at Nottingham Crown Court, he was remanded into custody by Judge Nirmal Shant KC, the Honorary Recorder of Nottingham. Aisha Khan, his barrister, successfully applied for an adjournment so that her client can undergo a psychological assessment ahead of his sentencing next month.
