The NRL has had to fix an embarrassing Anzac Day blunder on social media. Fans and commentators alike were quick to pounce on the missing detail from a post that was shared ahead of the Anzac Day blockbuster matches. A video that was published on the NRL ’s X account, was designed to pump up fans. Instead, it set them off for the wrong reason, and it wasn’t just because of the typos in the caption.
“Delete this post and recognise our friends across the Tasman,” one fan blasted. Later, a new NRL post went out with New Zealand included and sponsors Telstra erased. “In Round 8 we’ll honour and commemorate the generations of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have defended our values and freedoms, in wars, conflicts, and peace operations,” the post said. “Much better,” a fan said.
