Australian cult hero Nedd Brockmann had some extra fans cheering him on as he continues his push to break the 1000-mile world record. Shortly after Penrith won their fourth-straight NRL premiership at Accor Stadium, some fans ventured next door to the Sydney Olympic Park to watch Brockmann’s latest mission.

Fans crash Brockmann’s world record attempt. A short clip posted on X shows Brockmann acknowledging the fans, who were cheering him on, as he ran around the track. But in another clip, one overzealous fan was told to quieten down by one of Brockmann’s support team. The 25-year-old ultra-runner is hoping to raise $10m for homelessness charity We Are Mobilise with the world record attempt. In order to beat the world record, he will need to average 160km a day across 10 days.
