The NRMA has urged New South Wales Police to conduct random breath testing (RBT) despite staff informing their supervising management they have a shortage of personnel and are unable to pinch drink drivers.

The masthead reported at least 12 local Police Association of NSW offices across Sydney have informed management they are too understaffed to afford to conduct RBTs. However, drivers are being breath tested at the lowest levels since 2008, which sparked NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury to call on NSW Police to deter drivers from making the wrong decision.
