deputy Labor leader and Member for Londonderry Prue Car announced today she has been diagnosed with kidney cancer."Following recent tests, I was found to have a large tumour on my kidney," Car revealed."It would be no surprise to you all that this has come as quite a shock.

"I am deeply grateful to have access to the world class health care we are so lucky to have in Australia as I receive treatment." According to Australia's Cancer Council, more than 4300 Australian men and women are diagnosed with kidney cancer each year, with the five-year survival rate sitting at 79 per cent.
