NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell says she's disappointed after a glitch allowed a 'small number' of students to access their HSC results five days before their official release.

abc.net.au/news/nsw-education-minister-apologises-premature-leak-hsc-results/101758152The NSW education minister has apologised to HSC students after an IT bungle led to the early release of their results.

"Obviously, we're very disappointed that this has happened, I've asked NESA for a full explanation as to why and how this has occurred," she said. It's the second time this year HSC results have been mistakenly released early. In January, thousands of 2021 HSC students were able to access merit lists on the NESA website days before results were due to be released."This bungle has just added unnecessary stress on students, many of whom have no certainty if they were shown their final results or no," she said.

"The NSW government should give certainty to HSC students today and ensure all students can see their results equally."A NESA spokesperson said in a statement "some students" had access to their results "for a short period". "NESA is investigating the cause of the issue and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused," the statement said.
