The Gospers Mountain mega-fire has been upgraded to emergency level, threatening communities from the northern suburbs of Lithgow to the Hunter Valley.
As well as the Gospers Mountain fire, there are significant fires in the Grose Valley - where the Gospers Mountain fire has jumped the Grose River - and Green Wattle Creek in the Blue Mountains and the Currowan and Tianjara fires on the South Coast.
