The New South Wales government has accepted all 28 recommendations from a review of this year's catastrophic flooding.

The New South Wales government has accepted all 28 recommendations from a review of this year’s catastrophic flooding.

Former NSW police commissioner Mick Fuller says more resources were needed, given the flooding seen was “beyond the capability of the SES alone”. “So, I think what we saw was an agency that was probably undercooked in terms of the resources they needed to respond,” he told Sky News Australia. “What we have learnt out of the inquiry is that for these types of events, it needs to be all agency – they need to be on the ground before the storm and we need to get the warnings right for the community.

“That’s particularly important – you can’t have thousands of people needing to be evacuated in flooded areas. We need to get people out early.”
