More than 200,000 residents in and around Sydney are being ordered to leave their homes, while nearly 300,000 have been told to prepare to leave.
There are 76 evacuation orders covering more than 200,000 people on Thursday morning and 18 evacuation warnings covering nearly 300,000 residents. Windsor residents are moving their chickens to higher ground, as the floodwaters creep closer to homes along the Hawkesbury River.“Right along the coast of NSW, from the Queensland border to the Victorian border, everything is wet, everything is saturated,” the Bureau of Meteorology’s Dean Narramore says.
NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet says the state is fighting a battle on two fronts to keep people further south safe in the immediate term while helping Northern River residents recover.“There are going to be heartbreaking scenes across NSW today.
