The New South Wales Opposition has condemned the government's response to revelations there was an alleged conflict of interest when Transport Minister Jo Haylen appointed a campaign donor to a top job.
Ms Haylen chose Josh Murray as Secretary of Transport for NSW earlier this month and has come under fire after it was revealed he had donated to her campaign in 2022.
New South Wales’ shadow transport and roads minister and deputy Liberal leader Natalie Ward however claimed the government has failed to address the revelations. “By any objective measure the interests of donor to a political campaign of politician is a personal interest and a conflict, which requires appropriate declarations,” she said in a statement on Monday night.
She said the Opposition is requesting Ms Haylen’s disclosures prior to and during Mr Murray’s recruitment process and Mr Minns’ written approval for the Transport Minister to continue with his employment.
