State executive member Matthew Camenzuli has named the immigration minister, and state and federal presidents of the Liberal Party as defendants in a lawsuit.
A wealthy member of the NSW Liberal Party has named federal Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, state president Philip Ruddock and federal president John Olsen as defendants in a lawsuit designed to protect the state executive from federal intervention.
Mr Ruddock, who has been criticised by some faction leaders for being unable to resolve the dispute, said he had followed party rules. The case is part of a complex internal dispute over the selection of candidates for the federal election, which is due in about three months.
