The NSW Liberal Party will be missing from some local council elections after a catastrophic administrative error.
The NSW Liberals’ local government campaign is in complete disarray after the party missed the deadline to nominate candidates in a host of council areas including Canterbury-Bankstown, Shoalhaven and Wollongong.
The Liberal Party was scrambling on Wednesday to identify the extent of the problem, but it is likely that it will be missing candidates in many local government areas, which has caused outrage among members who saw the elections as key to winning back Liberal heartland.
