New South Wales Police have released CCTV footage with the hope of uncovering fresh leads into the shooting of a teenager in Sydney's west.

Officers who attended the scene were told two groups of men allegedly became involved in an altercation before driving away in two separate vehicles.

A short time later a 17-year-old boy presented to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital suffering a gunshot wound to his arm. No charges have been laid yet but police are hopeful the footage brings forth new information. Detectives from Burwood Police Area Command have established Strike Force Secant to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Investigators believe a man captured on CCTV entering a dark-coloured sedan may be able to assist with their inquiries. Picture: NSW Police. Investigators believe a man captured on CCTV entering a dark-coloured sedan may be able to assist with their inquiries.
