There are still around 200 flood rescues that are yet to be attended to and the Commissioner said that “those numbers may go up”.NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has urged the 14,000 people under evacuation warnings in Northern NSW to start preparing urgently. The minister announced that there are “four aircraft that are very keen to get up in the air and start down-the-wire rescues” once conditions eased.
Hospital emergency departments will remain open with local health authorities asking people not to hesitate to attend a hospital if they require urgent medical attention. NSW Health’s COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the area – including Tweed Mall, Byron Bay Services Club, Molesworth Street in Lismore and Prince Street in Grafton – will also remain shut tomorrow.NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has warned floods are set to worsen in the coming days.
