New South Wales has marked its deadliest day of the pandemic as COVID-19 hospitalisations, ICU admissions and infections continue to decline in Victoria.
Over the past week, hospitalisations have fallen from 2,943 on Tuesday to 2,794 on Wednesday and 2,722 on Thursday before reaching 2,693 on Saturday.
The ACT has seen more than 60 per cent of children in the same age bracket come forward to receive their first shot and rates are higher in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. In the 16 and over population, 95.4 per cent have received one dose and 94 per cent are double vaccinated. The booster rollout has seen 38.8 per cent of eligible candidates come forward for their third dose of the vaccine. Victoria has recorded 10,589 new COVID-19 cases and 20 deaths bringing total active cases to 79,294.
