The Hunter New England Health District yesterday recorded its first Omicron case, from a recently returned traveller from the UK. NSW Health said a public health investigation was underway into the transmission of the virus and more Omicron cases were expected in the Hunter region.At least 44 cases have been linked to a pub trivia night at the Oxford Tavern in Petersham, in Sydney's inner-west — authorities suspect several cases of the Omicron strain among the infected.
