Pharmacists will be able to treat ear infections, wounds, nausea, gastro, acne, muscle and joint pain at local pharmacies across the state
Thousands of NSW residents will have more convenient access to healthcare as the role of pharmacists is set to expand to treat several conditions.
Park said the decision will relieve the pressure on GPs around the state, as appointment fees soar and bulk billing slowly becomes a thing of the past. NSW pharmacists will be able to treat ear infections, wounds, nausea, gastro, acne, muscle and joint pain at local pharmacies across the state from 2026, Health Minister Ryan Park has announced.
"By empowering pharmacists to undertake consultations on more conditions, we can relieve the pressure on GPs and end the wait times.
