Students in New South Wales will be back in the classroom as planned amid the state experiencing thousands of COVID-19 infections of the Omicron wave.

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell confirmed the department had no plans to follow other states to delay a return to face-to-face learning.

Try 14 days free now “We’ve got a massive logistics exercise underway at the moment, those antigen tests have started to be shipped out to schools,” Minister Mitchell said. Further details about the frequency of when tests will be required for students will be outlined in the return-to-school plan which will be released following the meeting of state and territory leaders.

“What we have been saying is, ‘we’ve got to work out the plans’ in order to ensure that that is managed as best as possible.
