People around the world will be able to experience the music of North East Arnhem Land.

For weeks, Indigenous communities around Australia have been in lockdown due to the coronavirus crisis.

"Because a lot of community festivals were shut down by COVID-19, we thought it would be a great opportunity to keep these amazing performances going," he told SBS News. He added that the virtual concert would keep this tradition alive while strict measures are in place to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The live stream has been organised by Yolngu Radio, a major Indigenous broadcaster which has been crucial in sending coronavirus messages to remote communities in language. "People are wanting to protect their elders and family by going back out bush and back onto those homelands where people can live a healthier lifestyle and live off the land," Mr O'Riley said."In North East Arnhem land there is no coronavirus and we don't want to become complacent.
