Shadow NT Attorney-General Steve Edgington says the Northern Territory government needs to increase parental control and support amid the surging crime rates among young people.
“There’s a lot of money being spent on alcohol, gambling, cigarettes … what we need to see is more parental control, more involvement from the government to support parents,” Mr Edgington told Sky News Australia.
“We’ve heard about these parent responsibility agreements … that’s an opportunity to work with the family through a case management approach.
