As Australia marks National Reconciliation Week, young First Nations leaders have shared their vision for improving the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

Some young Territorians are rejecting the idea of reconciliation, saying governments aren't listening to the voices of young people.With much debate around crime focusing young people in the NT, some are coming up with their own solutions to forge healthier paths for their peers.But despite a national focus on promoting stronger relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, Mililma May says the concept "always has, and always will be redundant".

With young First Nations people the focus of much debate around social issues in the Northern Territory, the ABC has interviewed young NT leaders about their attitudes towards reconciliation.Young Territorians including Darwin rapper J-MILLA have voiced concerns over a proposed bill that would allow the NT police commissioner to impose snap curfews.

Mr Bowden jokes that it's a lot of pressure, but he sees it as a "responsibility" that he's proud to take on. "We come from a strengths-based approach. So, we like to act on what we see as necessary from our own lived experience … instead of talking about it," says Mr Vigona.The pair are less focused on the method and more on the outcome.
