Darwin Nunez is set to line up with the No.9 shirt for Uruguay later this week
Darwin Nunez has revealed former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez told him to inherit his famous No.9 shirt with Uruguay - but insisted he is ready to carry his nation's goal-scoring burden in a new era without the veteran forward.
As a result, the forward, who fired a quickfire brace during Liverpool's smash-and-grab victory over Newcastle United last weekend, has admitted that Suarez - with whom he struck up a close relationship during their time as international team-mates - has told him to inherit the famous No.9 shirt of Uruguay, with which he scored 68 goals across a glittering international career that stretched 137 appearances.
