New South Wales nurses and midwives are striking for the fourth time this year calling for better staffing ratios and more pay as the pandemic outstretches the state's public health system.

NSWNMA General Secretary, Shaye Candish, said nurses will strike for the fourth time, which she suggested is a sign the government is not listening to the concerns of health workers who have been overworked and outstretched by the pandemic.

“We all agree the public health system needs widespread improvement and we have put forward a comprehensive solution for many years – we need ratios in NSW.
