An 18-year-old woman was riding in the passenger seat of a Honda Accord when a Mercedes Benz sedan rammed into the vehicle shortly before 3:30 a.m. Friday, where Atlantic Avenue joins with Court Street, police said. First responders rushed her to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The teenager, whose identity has yet to be publicly released, was riding in the car with a 32-year-old driver who was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Police said that the Mercedes Benz ran a red light as it was zipping south on Court Street, where it crashed with the other car on Atlantic Avenue. A 25-year-old man driving the other car fled the scene by foot but was apprehended by police, according to officials. He was also hospitalized.This is a developing story and may be updated.
