Two minutes of silence will be held across New Zealand as a national day of mourning and reflection is declared to mark one week since the Christchurch mosque massacre.
Thousands of people will descend on the Al Noor mosque for Friday prayers after 42 people were killed there.
Mourners will also form human chains around worshippers to protect them while some non-Muslim women will wear headscarves in a show of solidarity. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will visit the city for the third time this week to attend. The call to prayer will be broadcast on local television and radio programs, to be followed by two minutes of silence at 11:32 AM AEDT.
