Patricio O’Ward believes that Daniel Ricciardo would"love" a move to IndyCar racing should the Australian not continue his career in Formula 1 after 2023.he wants to focus on a return to a top F1 seat in 2024, and has not given any serious thought to trying another category.
O’Ward, who has spent time with Ricciardo while embedded in the McLaren F1 camp, stood in for Lando Norris at McLaren in FP1 in Abu Dhabi.“I did see online that he didn't want to do ovals, which I respect,” said the Mexican. “But I think Daniel would love it. I really think he would fit right in. And does he want to do it? Does he not want to do it? I don't know.
“But I think there's a lot of kind of like trash talk about of super speedways and ovals in general. And it shouldn't be that way. Because maybe on TV it's hard to explain but it is a very cool, very different type of racing.
