OAKLAND — Nine juveniles police say are connected to nearly three dozen separate robberies in more than a dozen city neighborhoods were arrested Monday.
Officers arrested five of the juveniles at the business, but others fled in the car at a high speed. An Oakland police helicopter followed it from above to an area near 6th Avenue and East 15th Street, where four people got out and ran. Other officers responded to the area, and took the four into custody, police said.
Police described the suspects as three girls and six boys, ranging in ages from 12 to 17, with eight of them living in Oakland. All are allegedly linked to crimes in the city’s Acorn, Adams Point, Bella Vista, Chinatown, Fruitvale, Grand Lake, Ivy Hill, Longfellow, Mosswood, Northgate, Rockridge, Temescal, Trestle Glen and Uptown neighborhoods.
