An off-duty soldier from New Zealand - who had taken unpaid leave to help defend Ukraine against Russia - has been killed while fighting with foreign troops.
Dominic Bryce Aleben was based at Burnham Military Camp in Christchurch and was on unpaid leave while fighting for the International Legion of Ukraine.
