Offensive posters of former prime minister Tony Abbott have been plastered across the Warringah electorate. NSW Police says it has received complaints about the posters, which feature profanities and the name of convicted paedophile George Pell plastered across Mr Abbott’s forehead.
Speaking to 2GB after Pell was found guilty, Mr Abbott described the result as 'shocking and devastating for the friends of Cardinal Pell' admitting he was a friend himself. He went on to say the guilty verdict was 'devastating for all who believe in the Catholic Church' but acknowledged he had 'faith in the system of justice'. Mr Abbott is currently locked in a high-profile contest for the seat of Warringah against Independent Zali Steggall.
