Even though the number of newly reported cases is lower than it has been in recent days and weeks, the daily COVID-19 patient count is up more than 400 day-over-day.

Case numbers last week were artificially high due to a processing lag caused by the “unprecedented number of cases reported,” the state said. A total of 7,113,063 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 64.6% of Ohioans age 5 and up. Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 16,053 deaths among people reported as unvaccinated, and 761 among people reported to be fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 53,699 hospitalized Ohioans who were not fully vaccinated, and 3,209 fully vaccinated people hospitalized.
