Ohio State reserve defensive lineman Noah Potter has put his name in the NCAA transfer portal, a team spokesman confirmed Saturday.
He is the Buckeyes’ second scholarship player to enter the portal since spring practice ended last week,Potter spent three seasons with the Buckeyes, but was sidelined for all of last fall due to a series of setbacks. After recovering from a foot injury, he underwent emergency eye surgery for a torn retina in October.had bounced back by March
and gone through spring practice. His listed size at 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds gave him a chance to seize a large role, allowing him to line up at either defensive end or tackle. In the spring game last Saturday, he finished with six tackles and a pair of sacks, but Ohio State maintains a deep rotation along its defensive line with 15 other scholarship linemen.
With Potter’s entry into the transfer portal, the Buckeyes are down to 86 scholarship players, leaving them only one above the 85-man limit for next season.
