Despite yet another blowout win, Ohio State retained its spot at No. 3 in both the Associated Press and Coaches polls, the same position it has been in since falling to the third-ranked team in the country following an 11-point win over Notre Dame in the season opener. Despite having three top-10 teams – No. 3 Ohio State, No. 4 Michigan and No. 10 Penn State – the Big Ten has no other teams representing the conference in both polls.
In the Coaches Poll, Alabama and Georgia traded spots atop the rankings after the Bulldogs have struggled each of the last two weeks in wins over Kent State and Missouri. Other than the SEC powers switching spots at No. 1 and No. 2, the other three teams in the top five remained the same. Five teams who were not ranked last week are now included the Coaches Poll, with Kansas being the most notable team of that group, jumping from unranked to No. 17
