Oklahoma State Rep. Dean Davis, 50, was caught on film yelling at police that they couldn’t arrest him for public drunkenness because he is a lawmaker.
An Oklahoma state representative was caught on film yelling at police that they couldn’t arrest him for public drunkenness because he is a politician and above the law.
“You chose the wrong person, congratulations” Davis can be heard telling the officers as he claimed he was “privileged from arrest during the session of the Legislature.”“You can’t detain me!” Davis cried, realizing the officers didn’t care about his position. Oklahoma City Police DepartmentOklahoma City Police said no one had called to complain about Davis and his friends, but it was rather Brewer and a police lieutenant who spotted the group while patrolling the area at 2 a.m. last Thursday.
That’s when Davis pulled out his wallet to show his legislative credentials and warned the officers that they had “messed up.” Additional footage from inside the patrol car shows how Davis continued to argue against Brewer, demanding how he could arrest him without conducting a breathalyzer test first.
