It offers a glimpse into the past
A Liverpool man still has a decades old menu from Liverpool's Adelphi Hotel - and the prices and dishes are bound to stir some memories.
But this old menu offers another glimpse into its past and how things used to be inside the hotel in the sixties. Gavin told the ECHO: "I collect menus and I have done for years. Because I went to catering college every time we used to go into restaurants in those days, I would pick up a menu. What are your memories of the Adelphi Hotel from years gone by? Printed before decimalisation in 1971, the price listings and some of the items on offer are very different to menus we see today. The front of the Adelphi menu, which has a yellow and pink colour scheme, says: "The Adelphi Banqueting Suite and Private Rooms are available for meetings, luncheons, dinners and social functions - information regarding them can be obtained from the Resident Manager.
