This year alone, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is expected to open between 41 and 43 stores. Next year, if everything goes well it is hoping to open 50 new stores. And the company has no plans of slowing down with its ultimate goal to open about one store a week on average until it hits its end goal for now of 1,050 stores. The company's CEO, John Swygert thinks that goal one day could even be higher.

On average, a store remodel costs about $125,000. Ollie’s expects to remodel 30 stores by the end of the year.

“We don’t want to be as saturated as some other retailers are, and we don’t think we need to be,” he said.“I do think this model would resonate anywhere in the world but you have to figure out how to execute it properly,” he said. “We’re always searching for great people,” said Tom Kuypers, senior vice president of marketing and advertising at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.

“The big box retailers found themselves in an over-inventory position and cancelled a lot of orders,” he said. “When Walmart and Target cancel orders … their orders are very large.”
