Is there a 15m sprint? 🤔😂 Live blog:
Aussie Kareena Lee just finished third in the women's 10km marathon swim, claiming a bronze medal.
Brazil's Ana Marcela Cunha won gold in a thrilling finish, ahead of The Netherlands' Sharon vs Rouwendaal, who just touched-out Lee. The winning time was 1:59:30.8. Lee trailed Cunha by just 1.7 seconds to make history for Australia - she is the nation's first open water swimming medallist at the Olympics.
"I've been really working on my speed because I know it's always fast at the end and you're going to have to have that little bit at the end," Lee said post-race. "So I've been working on that with my coach and today I was able to hold on. It hurts so, so bad, but you have to think that everyone around you is hurting too. It's who can hurt the most and coming out third today is incredible.""That was my coach John Rodgers, or JR. He couldn't travel with us, so it was really special to be able to talk to him straight away," Lee said.
