The ship has been in isolation since February 3 after one man tested positive for the disease. Another 542 cases have since been confirmed on board.
A medical team is en route to Japan to rescue Australians trapped on the vessel as early as Wednesday night. About 200 people - mostly aged over 60 - are expected to board a Qantas charter flight to Darwin where they will be placed in quarantine for 14 days. Image: News Corp Australia
