One death was recorded in New South Wales as coronavirus cases continue to climb across the state with testing queues beginning to experience long wait times.
There are long lines at some testing clinics across the state as residents get swabbed ahead of visiting family and friends for the festive period.
NSW is on the edge of reaching 95 per cent double dosed while 78 per cent of the population aged 12-15 fully vaccinated. Premier Dominic Perrottet said the state had"done so well and got this far" but now was not the time to get complacent. People have been urged to get tested if they experience the mildest of symptoms ahead of the Christmas and holiday period. Picture: Jenny Evans/Getty Images
