It is also difficult to recall a period when Scottish Labour did not play the role of humiliated whipping boys.But Scottish Labour are back and the bookies have made them overwhelming favourites to pick up the seat. First Minister Humza Yousaf is also faced with putting together a cuts budget that will involve politically unpalatable choices.
This nonsensical approach could see Yousaf demanding independence after losing twenty seats to Labour. It would also raise serious questions about Labour’s popularity and the wisdom of the Starmer strategy.
