The leaves are changing colour, the nights are drawing in and Halloween is just around the corner, which can only mean one thing: spooky season is upon us. If you’re looking to get into the spirit of the season then a visit to a haunted hotspot is a must at this time of year.
While the UK has more than its fair share of haunted places, one of the most popular can be found right on our doorstep. After scouring TikTok to find the scariest haunted places in the country, holidaycottages.co.uk revealed that Pendle Hill in Lancashire is the second most popular haunted place to visit.
Of the 12 accused, 10 of the alleged witches were sentenced to execution by hanging it’s said they still haunt Pendle Hill today. The site has even featured on the TV show Most Haunted, with the show’s presenter Yvette Fielding reportedly saying it was one of the scariest episodes they had made.
