“ : Informative article on the importance of organ donations. Organ donations are truly a “gift of life.”
It is one of the saddest days in a family’s life to lose a loved one. But in making this decision to donate, it becomes the happiest day for the recipients and their families. In 1970, my brother, at age 19, was diagnosed with kidney disease. He received his kidney donation transplant at the age of 21.My brother lived 38 more wonderful years, thanks to the kindness of a family making the choice to donate a kidney of a deceased loved one.
Thank you to the organ donor families who have made a difference in the lives of others. A very special thank you.I’m dealing with cancer. In addition to the medications I receive several days per month, I require many blood transfusions — 34 so far. I just want to say thank you to whomever it is that donates this blood. I don’t know who these good people are, or anything about their lives, but I do know that they save lives.
